About
Experience
A 25-year veteran instructor and writer, I have a passion for learning and development. My experience was obtained through a variety of work environments.
Remote and In-Person Learning
As emergent technologies gave birth to new delivery methods, there was a significant shift toward remote learning. The tragic events of the 2020 pandemic accelerated this trend, expanding the virtual experience to nearly every home.
Throughout my career, I have remained at the forefront of educational technology, continually seeking and implementing cutting-edge systems to enhance learning experiences. My expertise extends to navigating and excelling in remote, hybrid, and blended learning environments. My unwavering dedication to fostering a supportive atmosphere—irrespective of the technological tools employed—has consistently yielded positive outcomes.
Individual vs. Group Learning
An individual class is all about you. I tailor the class to your learning goals and interests. You dictate the pace, allowing flexibility to accommodate your schedule and the volume of work and study you’re able to undertake. In individual classes, diving into the “rabbit holes” we encounter is not only okay, but actively encouraged. Are you a history buff? What music do you enjoy? We’ll find ways to work all that in to your learning experience.
Conversely, group learning involves diverse learners committing to shared learning objectives and maintaining a collective pace through the timely completion of assigned work. Collaborative settings foster growth as peers team up to problem-solve together. Additionally, group learning presents diverse opportunities for educational activities and game play, fostering camaraderie and enhancing social interaction. Through these cooperative efforts, students develop essential teamwork and communication skills, preparing them for real-world scenarios where collaboration is paramount.
Experience with Neuro-Atypical Learners
Aside from the familiar rewards and challenges that are inherent in the learning process, some students face unique struggles related to concentration, organization, and executive functioning. These challenges may manifest in difficulties with planning ahead, note-taking, or maintaining focus. Drawing from my personal and professional experiences, I approach working with neuro-atypical learners with patience, empathy, and understanding. By recognizing and addressing the specific needs of each individual, I provide tailored support, redirection, and guidance to help students stay on track and achieve their learning goals.
